Abstract In an air conditioner for an automobile, the opening range of an air-mix door is divided into three ranges on the basis of the relationship between the change ratio of the opening of the air-mix door and the change ratio of the air temperature. In the range where this change ratio is large, the voltage applied to the air-mix con- trol motor is low; when this ratio is small, the voltage applied to the air-mix control motor is higher. This arrangement avoids hunching of the air-mix door, while the responsiveness of the door is improved in the range where this ratio is small.
