An air mixer for an air distribution system for a building includes a set of fixed, parallel partitions arranged in a spaced-apart manner with one above another, these partitions forming alternating primary and secondary air passageways that are capable of conveying first and second air flows respectively. These passageways are substantially open ended at both inlet and outlet ends thereof. The primary air passageways extend from a first side of the mixer to a third, outlet. side while the secondary air passageways extend at a substantial angle to the primary passageways from a second side to the third outlet side. There are fixed mixing devices, preferably in the form of curved vanes, arranged at many of the outlet ends of the passageways. The preferred air mixer has a substantially triangular shape in plan view.

L'invention a trait à un mélangeur d'air pour un système de distribution d'air d'immeuble, lequel est formé de séries de passages d'aération parallèles fixes disposés séparément de façon étagée. Lesdits passages constituent des réseaux d'aération primaire et secondaire, en alternance, capables de conduire respectivement un premier et un deuxième flux d'air. Les passages en question sont substantiellement extensibles aux deux extrémités, c,-à-d. à l'entrée et à la sortie. Les passages d'air primaire vont d'un premier côté du mélangeur à un troisième point qui mène à la sortie, tandis que les passages du réseau d'aération secondaire sont disposés selon un angle prononcé par rapport au réseau primaire et vont du deuxième côté au point de sortie. Le tout comporte des dispositifs mélangeurs fixes se présentant de préférence sous la forme d'ailettes courbées installées à plusieurs des extrémités de sortie des passages. Le mélangeur d'air se présente, préférablement, sous une forme substantiellement triangulaire lorsqu'on l'examine en vue plongeante.
