A water bottle for use in a humidifier is disclosed. The water bottle includes abottom wall, a top wall and a circumferentially extending side wall extending between the bottom wall and top wall. A selective water dispenser, generally in the form of a water bottle dispensing cap, is mounted over a water dispensing opening formed in one of the walls of the water bottle. An air seal is provided for a water filling opening that is formed in one of the walls of the water bottle. The air seal, independent of a water seal, utilizes negative pressure differential in the water bottle that is generated during the dispensing of the water throughthe water dispensing opening to provide a vacuum air seal for the water filling opening independent of the pressure that may be required to complete the water seal for the water filling opening.
