ABSTRACT Conventional Boots, Shoes and Slippers come in many de- signs, shapes and sizes, and are made of a considerable var- iety of leathers, rubber, and synthetic materials. Too often the footware does not fit the wearer properly, being too nar- row, rigid, not conforming properly to the shape of the wear- ers foot, resulting in discomfort to the wearer. By literally allowing the wearer to walk on air, I feel that the problem of individual weight, gait, length of step and style of walking would be taken care of. Since air is a good insulator, a shoe having an air space between the liner and the sole would be cooler in summer, warm- er in winter, absorb the shock of the impact of the wearers footsteps, be more resistant to dampness, especially in beach footwear. An Air-sole would be a boon to people who walk on hot pavements, workshop and super market floors.
