The present invention called Air/Water Filled Tubular Units are used in a variety of forms and functions taking advantage of the easy handling of the light weight large diameter tubular units that could be rolled and easily transported at distances due to their light weight, and when said tubular units are inflated; a) as water filled tubular units, said units could be easily pumped with water and stacked over each other to build an instant large volume water barrier, dyke, dam, or the like without occupying much manpower simply by pumping water through these pipes. b) small diameter, air inflated tubular units attached to impermeable membrane water barriers, used as buoyants to lift up said impermeable membranes. c) air inflated tubular units using light weight deflated tubular units as life belts around ships that would occupy little space and when a ship is damaged said tubular units are approached to the damaged area anchored to the lowest point of the ship, inflated and pressurized to a large volume that would transfer its uplifting buoyancy forces to the damaged ship to keep it afloat. All tubular units are sub-divided internally into chambers provided with inlet/safety valves to allow pumping of the whole tubular unit from one end with provision to prevent sudden deflation in case of the rupture of a unit at one end or the other , resulting in both cases; i- in creating an instant massive water barrier ii-in providing a sinking ship with large buoyancy forces to keep it afloat with very little manpower engagement.
