ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A brush assembly for establishing electrical connection from a brush assembly to a rotating slip ring includes at least a pair of modules made of dielectric material; each module has an electrically conductive insert molded into a central inner portion thereof to be completely insulated; each module has a recess to provide an opening therein; each insert has a narrow bore extending there- through; a brush is slidably mounted in each of the recesses; spring means is located in each of the recesses for biasing each brush outwardly out of its recess to project a portion of the brush through its respective opening; an elongated conductive rod is slidably received by each of the narrow bores for abutting electrical contact therewith; one end of each of the rods is connected to one of the brushes and the other end of the rod projects out of the module; a threaded bore in each of the modules extends into the con- ductive insert, a threaded bolt is secured to the bore for maintaining electrical conductive contact with the insert, and means interconnects the modules to retain the modules in stacked relationship, in particular the brush assembly may be cooperative with slip rings on an aircraft to conduct electricity to deicers on propeller blades; the assembly has replaceable modules and the modules can be stacked to provide the number of brushes required to mate with the slip rings.
