Abstract In an aircraft radar system with a search radar and a radar-warning receiver system there is an additional receiver branch, to which hostile radar signals picked up by the sharply focussed transmit-receive antenna are passed, and the output of which is connected to the radar-warning receiver. This results in a high level of angular resolution and a considerable increase in range, and this in turn leads to the detailed and timely identification of threat situations. The use of already available components and the simple construction of the additional receiver branch means that the associated costs have been kept to a minimum.
