The invention concerns a system (1) comprising means (2) for determining the current position of the aircraft, a display device (4) displaying, on a viewing screen (7) an airport map, wherewith is associated a symbol illustrating the current position of the aircraft, an interface means (8) enabling the display of the display device (4) to be operated by an operator, storage means (10) storing a plurality of airport maps, means (12) for determining a reference point for each airport, whereof the map is stored in the storage means (10), and a selecting device (13) which selects an airport map stored in the storage means (8) so as to transmit same to the display device (4) so that it can be displayed, and which comprises means (14) enabling an airport map to be automatically selected, based on the current position of the aircraft and an airport reference point.
Le système (1) comporte un moyen (2) pour déterminer la position courante de l'aéronef, un dispositif d'affichage (4) présentant, sur un écran de visualisation (7), une carte d'aéroport, à laquelle est associé un symbole illustrant la position courante de l'aéronef, un moyen d'interface (8) permettant à un opérateur d'agir sur l'affichage du dispositif d'affichage (4), un moyen de stockage (10) stockant une pluralité de cartes d'aéroport, un moyen (12) permettant de déterminer un point de référence pour chaque aéroport, dont la carte est stockée dans le moyen de stockage (10), et un dispositif de sélection (13) qui sélectionne une carte d'aéroport stockée dans le moyen de stockage (10) de manière à la transmettre au dispositif d'affichage (4) pour qu'il puisse l'afficher, et qui comporte des moyens (14) permettant de sélectionner automatiquement une carte d'aéroport à afficher, en fonction de la position courante de l'aéronef et d'un point de référence d'aéroport.
