ABSTRACT This invention relates to an oro-pharyngeal airway of generally ellipsoidal cross-sectional shape adapted to function as a guide and passageway for an endotracheal tube for intubation of a human larynx having distal and proximal halves and ends in which the proximal end is generally in the shape of a cylindrical tunnel of a size sufficient to accommodate a complementary endotracheal tube and in which the distal half and end is open along its lingual surface so as to permit the passage therethrough of the aforesaid complementary endotracheal tube.
