A deployable telescopic seating structure employs a backstop arrangement to prevent users and operators from coming into contact with structure that may cause injury, such as interengaging metal elements that limit the extent of deployment. The backstop portions are arrangement in the aisle region of the telescopic seating structure and have an overall height that is responsive to the height of one seating level above another, or in another embodiment, to the difference between such height and an intermediate step. The backstop arrangement has an engagement portion with a flange element that extends transversely therefrom and which engages with a top surface of the seating level. Preferably, the engagement portion forms a forwardmost edge termination. A fastening portion is arranged intermediate of the engagement portion and the riser portion of the backstop member. Structural integrity and strength of the riser portion is enhanced by forming same as a multi-wall structure having supporting cross elements therebetween. The backstop arrangement can be formed as a continuous extrusion of a polymeric material, such as vinyl, which is fire retardant and which provides injury reducing resilience in the event of impact by a player. Lighting is incorporated into the multi-wall structure of some embodiments of the invention.
Structure d'appui télescopique faisant appel à un dispositif de butée servant à empêcher les utilisateurs et les opérateurs d'entrer en contact avec la structure et à éviter ainsi les accidents. Ce système de butée peut être constitué d'éléments métalliques imbriqués qui limitent le déploiement de la structure. Les sections de la butée se trouvent sur le bas-côté de la structure d'appui télescopique et sont d'une hauteur hors-tout correspondant à la hauteur de deux niveaux d'appui superposés ou, dans une autre configuration, à la différence entre cette hauteur et une étape intermédiaire. Ce dispositif de butée comporte une section d'imbrication munie d'une bride se déployant transversalement à partir de ce point pour entrer en contact avec une surface supérieure de niveau d'appui. La section d'imbrication forme de préférence un bord d'extrémité situé devant tout le reste. Une section de fixation se trouve entre la section d'imbrication et une partie mobile du dossier de l'élément de butée. Pour améliorer l'intégrité structurale et la résistance de la section du tuyau de montée, on donne au tuyau de montée la forme d'une structure à parois multiples entre lesquelles sont intercalés des éléments de soutien transversaux. Le dispositif de butée peut être constitué d'une extrusion continue de matériau polymérisé difficilement combustible, comme le vinyle, qui offre également une certaine souplesse fort utile pour éviter qu'un joueur se blesse en heurtant la butée. L'éclairage fait partie intégrante de la structure à parois multiples dans certaines configurations de cette invention.
