ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel infusion system is provided herein for providing medication to a living body of a patient. The infusion system includes an infusion apparatus for implantation in the living body. That infusion apparatus includes a medication reservoir for storing selected medication. An infusion device is also provided for infusing the selected medication which is stored in the medication reservoir into the living body. The infusion apparatus includes an alarm for generating a distinctive alarm signal for each of a plurality of improper operational conditions in the system.
