A composition including an alcohol absorbed polyalphaolefin that functions as a drag reducing agent and a process for the preparation of the drag reducing agent are disclosed. The process includes the steps of contacting alpha olefin monomers with at least one catalyst in a reactant mixture to form a polyalphaolefin. The polyalphaolefin is then contacted with at least one water insoluble alcohol for a period of time to provide an alcohol absorbed polyalphaolefin that is used as an improved drag reducing agent. Processes for reducing drag in a conduit are also disclosed.
L'invention concerne une composition contenant une polyalphaoléfine absorbée par un alcool utilisée comme agent de réduction de traînée, et un procédé de préparation d'un agent de réduction de traînée. Le procédé consiste à mettre en contact des monomères d'alpha oléfine avec un catalyseur dans un mélange de réaction afin de former une polyalphaoléfine. La polyalphaoléfine est alors mise en contact avec au moins un alcool insoluble dans l'eau pendant une durée déterminée afin d'obtenir une polyalphaoléfine absorbée par un alcool utilisée comme agent de réduction de traînée amélioré. L'invention concerne également des procédés de réduction de traînée dans un conduit.
