The invention relates to alcohol alcoxylates of general formula (I) R1-O-(CH2-CHR5-O-)r(CH2-CH2-O-)n(CH2-CHR6-O-)s(CH2-CHR2-O-)m H, wherein R1 represents at least a mono-branched C4-22 alkyl, R2 represents C3-4 alkyl, R5 represents C1-4 alkyl, R6 represents methyl or ethyl, n represents a mean value of between 1 and 50, m represents a mean value of between 0 and 20, r represents a mean value of between 0 and 50, s represents a mean value of between 0 and 50, whereby m is at least 0.5, if R5 is methyl or ethyl, or if r has the value 0; or to alcohol alcoxylates of general formula (II) R3-O-(CH2-CH2-O-)p(CH2-CHR4-O-)q H, wherein R3 represents a branched or unbranched C4-22 alkyl, R4 represents C3-4 alkyl, p represents a mean value between 1 and 50 and q represents a mean value of between 0.5 and 20. Said alcohol alcoxylates are used as low-foam, or foam-inhibiting surfactants.

L'invention concerne des alcoxylates d'alcool de formule générale (I) R<1>-O-(CH2-CHR<5>-O-)r(CH2-CH2-O-)n(CH2-CHR<6>-O-)s(CH2-CHR<2>-O-)mH, dans laquelle R<1> représente alkyle C4-22 au moins une fois ramifié ; R<2> alkyle C3-4 ; R<5> alkyle C1-4 ; R<6> méthyle ou éthyle ; n présente une valeur moyenne comprise 1 et 50 ; m une valeur moyenne comprise entre 0 et 20 ; r une valeur moyenne comprise entre 0 et 50 ; s une valeur moyenne comprise entre 0 et 50, m étant au moins égal à 0,5 lorsque R<5> représente méthyle ou éthyle ou r vaut 0 ; ou des alcoxylates d'alcool de formule générale (II) R<3>-O-(CH2-CH2-O-)p(CH2-CHR<4>-O-)qH, dans laquelle R<3> représente alkyle C4-22 ramifié ou non ; R<4> alkyle C3-4, p présente une valeur moyenne comprise entre 1 et 50 ; q une valeur moyenne comprise entre 0,5 et 20. Ces alcoxylates d'alcool sont utilisés comme tensioactifs à faible production de mousse ou à effet antimousse.
