ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to the use of polyamides which are alcohol-soluble at room temperature and are based on di- merized fatty acids, at least one aliphatic unbranched mono- carboxylic acid and at least one aliphatic branched monocar- boxylic acid, ethylenediamine and hexamethylenediamine as amine components, and optionally conventional additives as binders in printing inks, which not only are readily soluble in alcohol at room temperature but whose solutions also possess pronounced alcohol dilutability and good gelling resistance, especially at temperatures below room temperature, and which give ink films having uncommonly high blocking points and good water resistance.
