The present invention relates to methods for the treatment of hepatic disorders in a subject in need thereof. More specifically, the methods of the invention are based on the administration, preferably, systemic administration, of a therapeutically effective amount of at least one biocompatible alginate biomaterial, any modification thereof and any combination thereof. The invention further provides methods for sustaining serum albumin levels, and/or reducing serum AST and ALT, in subjects suffering from hepatic disorder. Still further, the invention provides methods for reducing apoptosis and inducing cell proliferation in a damaged liver tissue of a subject suffering of hepatic disorder, using the alginate biomaterial described by the invention.
La présente invention concerne des procédés pour le traitement de troubles hépatiques chez un sujet le nécessitant. Plus spécifiquement, les procédés de l'invention sont fondés sur l'administration, de préférence l'administration systémique, d'une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'au moins un matériau biologique d'alginate biocompatible, d'une quelconque de ses modifications et d'une quelconque de ses combinaisons. L'invention concerne en outre des procédés permettant de maintenir des teneurs en albumine sérique, et/ou de réduire l'AST et l'ALT sériques, chez des sujets souffrant de troubles hépatiques. L'invention concerne de surcroît des procédés de réduction de l'apoptose et d'induction de la prolifération cellulaire dans un tissu hépatique lésé d'un sujet souffrant d'un trouble hépatique, au moyen du matériau biologique d'alginate décrit par l'invention.
