A B S T R A C T A process for washing hair to improve the fee l and handle thereof and to reduce the tendency thereof to become greasy after washing, comprising washing the hair with an aqueous liquid hair washing preparation which contains fine-particulate water-insoluble alkali metal aluminosilicates of the formula (Cat2O)x ? Al2O3 ? (SiO2)y in which Cat represents an alkali metal ion, x represents a number of from 0.7 to 1.5, y represents a number of from 0.8 to 6, which alkali metal aluminosilicates have a primary particle size of from 1 to 12 µ, and a calcium binding capacity of 100 to 200 mg CaO/gm of anhydrous active substance.
