An alkaline earth metal-basic silicate particle, characterized in that it comprises an alkaline earth metal hydroxide particle and, caused to be present on the surface thereof, an alkaline earth metal silicate, and has a SiO2/MO mole ratio, wherein M is an alkaline earth metal, ranging from 0.01 to 0.90 as the resultant total particle. The particle is useful as a stabilizer for a chlorine-containing polymer.

L'invention concerne une particule silicatée à base de métal alcalino-terreux, qui se caractérise en ce qu'elle comprend une particule hydroxyde de métal alcalino-terreux amenée à sa surface et un silicate de métal alcalino-terreux; et présente un rapport molaire SiO¿2?/MO dans lequel M est un métal alcalino-terreux compris entre 0,01 et 0,90 comme résultante de la particule totale. La particule de l'invention est utile comme stabilisateur d'un polymère chloré.
