The present invention relates to a new and environmentally sound process for the manufacturing of a chemical pulp from lignocellulosic material with an integrated recovery system for recovery of pulping chemicals. The process is carried out in several stages involving a pre-treatment stage followed by one or more delignification stages using an alkaline buffer solution comprising alkali metaborate and sodium carbonate as major components. The alkaline components of the pulping liquor are recovered from a chemicals recovery furnace and at least a portion of the alkali is recycled and used for delignification without any prior reactions with lime or calcium compounds for generation of alkali hydroxide. A quinone based delignification catalyst may be added to be present during delignification. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the quinone pulping catalyst is added prior to alkaline delignification, said delignification conducted in the substantial absence of sulphide.
La présente invention concerne un processus nouveau et écologiquement rationnel de fabrication d'une pulpe chimique à partir d'une matière lignocellulosique, qui utilise un système intégré de récupération des produits chimiques de fabrication de pulpe. Le processus comprend plusieurs stades, y compris un stade de prétraitement, suivi d'un ou de plusieurs stades de délignification utilisant une solution tampon alcaline dont les composants principaux sont le métaborate alcalin et le carbonate de sodium. Les composants alcalins de la liqueur de formation de pulpe sont récupérés dans un four de récupération de composants chimiques, et au moins une partie de l'alcali est recyclée et utilisée pour la délignification sans aucune réaction préalable avec de la chaux ou des composés à base de calcium visant la génération d'hydroxyde alcalin. Pendant le processus de délignification, on peut ajouter à ces composants un catalyseur de délignification à base de quinone. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le catalyseur à base de quinone est ajouté avant la délignification alcaline, ladite délignification étant conduite sensiblement en l'absence de sulfure.
