The invention relates to polymers which contain structural units of monomers (A) according to formula (I), wherein A represents a C2 to C4 alkylene group, R1 represents hydrogen or methyl, and k is a number of 1 to 1000, and to the use thereof for demulsifying oil/water emulsions in amounts of 0.0001 to 5% by weight, based on the oil content of the emulsion to be demulsified.
