D 9315 PCT A b s t r a c t A stabilized surfactant paste Water-based surfactant pastes, more particularly those containing nonionic surfactants of the alkyl glycoside type, are effectively stabilized against microbial infesta- tion if, after oxidative bleaching to eliminate alkali- sensitive colour bodies, they are adjusted to a pH value of at least 11 by addition of alkaline substances.
