Abstract of the Disclosure Alkylated 2,2'-biphenylene phosphites are prepared by re- acting alkylated 2,2'-biphenol with phosphorus trichloride in an organic solvent an then reacting the intermediate with an alcohol or a thiol. Said phosphites are useful as stabilizers of organic polymers and lubricating oils, especially as process stabilzers for, polyolefins,polyesters and polycarbonates.
