A method and apparatus for transferring information of an optical information- bearing signal from a first wavelength to a second wavelength. The method is implemented in an all optical wavelength converter circuit (200) which includes a laser diode (115) in communication with a polarization controller (210). An information bearing signal having a first wavelength is input to the circuit (605). A polarization controller (210) adjusts (620) the polarization of the information bearing signal. The laser diode (115) receives (625) the polarization-adjusted information-bearing signal and generates (630) a converted information bearing signal by transferring the information of the polarization adjusted information-bearing signal from the first wavelength to the second wavelength.
Procédé et dispositif de transfert d'une première à une seconde longueur d'onde d'informations véhiculées par un signal porteur d'informations. La mise en oeuvre du procédé se fait dans un circuit convertisseur de longueur d'onde tout-optique (2'00) comprenant une diode laser (115) en communication avec un contrôleur de polarisation (210). Un premier signal porteur d'information dans une première longueur d'onde est entré dans le circuit (605). Un contrôleur de polarisation (210) règle (620) la polarisation du signal porteur d'informations. La diode laser (115) reçoit (625) le signal porteur d'information à polarisation ajustée et génère (630) un signal porteur d'information converti en transférant l'information du signal porteur d'information ajusté de la première à la seconde longueur d'onde.
