In processes for coating the entire surface of grid-like or net-like vessel stents, the vessel stents are first provided with a thin layer that covers the material surface of the vessel stent, then, in a second coating step, the entire surface of the vessel stent is coated, this all-over coating covering both the webs and the gaps between the individual webs.
