An improved hydraulic drive system (20) is provided for a vehicle having a plurality of ground engaging wheels which are each individually driven by a hydraulic motor to provide all wheel drive. The ground engaging wheels include a first pair of such wheels at or adjacent a first end of the vehicle and at least one other such wheel at or adjacent a second end of the vehicle. The hydraulic drive system (20) includes a hydraulic flow circuit (40) that connects the hydraulic motor(s) (30) for the wheel(s) at the second end of the vehicle in series to each other, to the fluid source (22), and to the drive motors (32) for the wheels at the first end of the frame, which latter drive motors are connected in parallel to each other. Such a vehicle will provide superior traction ability as at least one wheel on each end of the vehicle must slip to bring the vehicle to a halt.
L'invention concerne un système de transmission hydraulique (20) amélioré pour un véhicule ayant plusieurs roues en contact avec le sol, chacune des roues étant entraînée par un moteur hydraulique afin d'assurer une transmission intégrale sur toutes les roues. Les roues en contact avec le sol se composent d'une première paire de roues situées vers une première extrémité du véhicule et au moins une autre de ces roues se situant à une seconde extrémité du véhicule. Le système de transmission hydraulique (20) comprend un circuit hydraulique (40) qui relie le (les) moteur(s) hydrauliques (30) pour la (les) roue(s) de la seconde extrémité du véhicule montés en série entre eux, par rapport à la source de fluide hydraulique (22) et par rapport aux moteurs d'entraînement (32) des roues de la première extrémité du châssis du véhicule, lesdits moteurs d'entraînement étant reliés en parallèle entre eux. Un tel véhicule présente des caractéristiques de traction améliorée étant donné qu'au moins une roue de chaque extrémité du véhicule doit glisser pour provoquer l'arrêt du véhicule.
