A garment, and a method of constructing garments, is disclosed which substantially alleviates or eliminates sources of abrasion which hitherto caused holes in the garment substrate adjacent to pockets. The method includes one or more steps of reducing the number of fabric plies in the upper corner (20) of pockets (10) to increase flexibility and eliminate point abrasion, increasing the distance between the peripheral stitching line (44) and the peripheral edge (52) of the pocket to increase the flexibility of the peripheral edge of the pocket and eliminate line abrasion, decreasing the stitch density in bar tacks whereby the stitch hole made by each stitch in a bar tack is distinct and separate from the stitch holes made by other stitches in the bar tack, and eliminating over edge stitches which tie the pocket to the garment substrate.
L'invention concerne un vêtement, et un procédé de confection de vêtements, permettant de réduire sensiblement ou d'éliminer les sources d'abrasion entraînant la formation de trous adjacents aux poches dans le substrat du vêtement. Ledit procédé comprend tout d'abord une ou plusieurs opérations visant à réduire le nombre de plis de tissu dans le coin supérieur (20) des poches (10), de manière à rendre le tissu plus souple et à éliminer l'abrasion au niveau des points. Le procédé consiste ensuite à augmenter la distance séparant la ligne de piqûre périphérique (44) du bord périphérique (52) de la poche de manière à rendre le bord périphérique de la poche plus souple et à éliminer l'abrasion au niveau de la ligne de piqûre ; à réduire la densité de piqûre au niveau des brides d'arrêt, la piqûre formée par chacun des point dans une bride d'arrêt étant distincte et séparée des piqûres formées par d'autres points dans la bride d'arrêt ; et à éliminer les points de surjet qui permettent de fixer la poche au substrat du vêtement.
