The invention concerns alloyed zinc powders for alkaline batteries and a method to manufacture such powders . The powders are characterised by the presence of particles pierced with at least one hole. This appears to benefit the high drain discharge capacity while preserving the process ability of the powder, and the shelf life and the gassing behaviour of the batteries . The invented powders can be manufactured using centrifugal atomisation in a cooled, oxygen-depleted atmosphere.

L'invention concerne des poudres de zinc en alliage, destinées aux batteries alcalines, et un procédé pour fabriquer ces poudres. Les poudres sont caractérisées par la présence de particules percées avec au moins un trou. Cela apporte visiblement l'avantage d'une capacité élevée de décharge de drain tout en préservant la capacité de traiter la poudre, et la durée de conservation ainsi que le comportement de gazage des batteries. Les poudres de l'invention peuvent être fabriquées par atomisation à centrifuge dans une atmosphère refroidie appauvrie en oxygène.
