An .alpha.-amylase activity inhibitor containing as the active ingredient polyphenols which are obtained by extracting guava leaves and/or fruits with one or more solvents selected from among water and hydrophilic solvents, eliminating materials having molecular weight less than 5,000 by ultrafiltration, using hydrophobic chromatography with the use of a packing carrying butyl as the solid phase, eluting under stepwise concentration gradient of a 0.02 mol/L aqueous solution of monosodium dihydrogenphosphate and a 0.02 mol/L aqueous solution of trisodium phosphate at a flow rate of 1 mL/min, and then collecting a fraction recognized as the third single peak in case of measuring the absorbance at 260 nm; an .alpha.-amylase activity inhibitor containing as the active ingredient polyphenols having specific physicochemical properties; and foods and drinks, etc. containing the same.
Cette invention a trait à un inhibiteur de l'activité de l'amylase-.alpha. renfermant, comme ingrédient actif, des polyphénols que l'on extrait de feuilles et/ou de fruits de goyave à l'aide d'un ou de plusieurs solvants choisis entre de l'eau et des solvants hydrophiles. On élimine ensuite par ultrafiltration des substances dont le poids moléculaire est inférieur à 5 000 et ce, par chromatographie hydrophobe en utilisant un produit de remplissage contenant du butyle en phase solide. On procède alors à une élution à gradient de concentration par paliers d'une solution aqueuse de phosphate trisodique à 0.02 mol/l et à un débit de 1 ml/min. On recueille ensuite une fraction reconnue comme étant la troisième seule crête dans le cas d'une mesure du pouvoir d'absorption à 260 nm. L'invention concerne également un inhibiteur de l'activité de l'amylase-.alpha. renfermant, comme ingrédient actif, des polyphénols dotés de propriétés physico-chimiques spécifiques. Elle porte, de surcroît, sur des aliments et des boissons, etc., la contenant.
