ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to .alpha.-isopropyl- and .alpha.-cyclopropyl- phenylacetates of the formula Image wherein R1 is hydrogen, cyano, -CSNH2, allenyl, C2-C3alkenyl or C2-C3alkynyl, R2 is unsubstituted or substituted alkenyl or alkynyl, R3 is isopropyl or cyclopropyl, and each of R4 and R5 is hydrogen, halogen, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4haloalkyl, C1-C4alkoxy, C1-C4haloalkoxy, or both together are the methylenedioxy radical. A process for the production of these compounds and their use in pest control are disclosed.
