The present invention relates to novel alkanoic acid derivatives thereof, their synthesis, and their use as .alpha.v integrin receptor antagonists. More particularly, the compounds of the present invention are antagonists of the integrin receptors .alpha.v.beta.3 and/or .alpha..beta.5 and are useful for inhibiting bone resorption, treating and preventing osteoporosis, and inhibiting vascular restenosis, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, angiogenesis, atherosclerosis, inflammatory arthritis, cancer, and metastatic tumor growth.

La présente invention concerne des nouveaux dérivés d'acide alcanoïque, leur synthèse, et leur utilisation en tant qu'antagonistes du récepteur de l'intégrine .alpha.v. Plus particulièrement, les composés de la présente invention sont des antagonistes des récepteurs de l'intégrine .alpha.v.beta.3 et/ou .alpha.v.beta.5, et sont utiles pour l'inhibition de la résorption osseuse, pour le traitement et la prévention de l'ostéoporose, et pour l'inhibition de la resténose vasculaire, de la rétinopathie diabétique, de la dégénérescence maculaire, de l'angiogenèse, de l'athérosclérose, de l'arthrite inflammatoire, du cancer et de la croissance tumorale métastatique.
