Improved processes for preparing and crystallizing N- (phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid are provided. The processes include adding N-(phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid seed crystals to N- (phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid reaction solutions. Provided are beds of crystallized N-(phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid having improved permeability and filtration rate and reduced impurities.

L'invention concerne des procédés améliorés permettant de préparer et de cristalliser de l'acide N-(phosphonométhyl)iminodiacétique. Selon lesdits procédés, il est prévu d'ajouter des cristaux germes d'acide N-(phosphonométhyl)iminodiacétique à des solutions de réaction d'acide N-(phosphonométhyl)iminodiacétique. L'invention concerne des lits d'acide N-(phosphonométhyl)iminodiacétique cristallisé présentant un meilleur niveau de perméabilité et de filtration et un taux réduit d'impuretés.
