ABSTRACT A unitary alternator-compressor including a clutch assembly for the compressor. The clutch assembly continuously drives the alternator rotor (68) and selectively drives the compressor crankshaft (32). A single bearing (122) supports the alternator rotor (68). The clutch includes a drive pulley (120) and a flange member (140) which is rotatably secured to the rotor by means of a plurality of drive pins (136). The pins (136) are retained in position by a locking nut (134) which also engages with and clamps the outer race (126) of the bearing (122). The inner race (124) of the bearing (122) is clamped by a second nut (130).
