ABSTRACT A vacuum pump is attached to the front side of an alternator, that is, between a driven pulley and the alternator, and the pump shaft is detachably coupled to the alternator shaft through a tubular bushing shaft. A seal member is disposed in the tubular bushing shaft for preventing leakage of lubricating oil from the pump to the alternator brushes at a rear side of the alternator.
