An alumina-base ceramic sinter having high hardness, excellent wear resistance, high strength and high toughness, being suitable particularly for cutting tools and wear-resistant members, and containing 5-70 % by volume of WC having a crystal grain size of 5 µm or less and 5-70 % by volume of a Ti(C, N) solid solution having a molar C/N ratio ranging from 1/9 to 9/1.
L'invention concerne un aggloméré céramique à base d'alumine possédant une haute dureté, une excellente résistance à l'usure, une résistance élevée et une grande robustesse. Ledit aggloméré convient particulièrement pour des outils coupants ou des éléments réquérant la résistance à l'usure. Il contient, d'une part, 5 à 70 % par volume d'un CW ayant une dimension du grain cristallin de 5 µm au plus et, d'autre part, 70 % par volume d'une solution solide de Ti(C, N) présentant une relation molaire C/N de 1/9 à 9/1.
