A catalytically active aluminoxane can be synthesized from a precursor formed by the combination of at least one trialkylaluminum compound, such as trimethylaluminum, and at least one organoaluminum compound containing a carbon-oxygen bond therein, such as a compound of the formula: (CH3)2AIOR', wherein R' is a linear or branched C1- C10 alkyl group, such as a tert-butyl group. The trialkylaluminum compound may be used as such or after reaction with at least one organic compound containing a carbon-oxygen bond, such as carbon dioxide. The aluminoxane may be formed by thermolysis, a combination of hydrolysis and thermolysis or hydrolysis.
On peut synthétiser un aluminoxane actif sur le plan catalytique à partir d'un précurseur formé par l'association d'au moins un composé de trialkylaluminium, tel que le triméthylaluminium, et d'au moins un composé d'organoaluminium contenant une liaison carbone-oxygène, tel qu'un composé correspondant à la formule: (CH3)2AIOR', où R' désigne un groupe alkyle C1-C10 linéaire ou ramifié C1-C10, tel qu'un groupe tert-butyle. On peut utiliser le composé trialkylaluminium tel quel ou après réaction avec au moins un composé organique contenant une liaison carbone-oxygène, tel que le dioxyde de carbone. On peut obtenir l'aluminoxane par thermolyse, par association d'hydrolyse et de thermolyse, ou par hydrolyse.
