ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A modified aluminum alloy 3004 composition comprising by weight 0.5-1.5% manganese, 0.1-1.0% iron, 0.1-0.5% silicon, 0.1-0.4% chromium, 0.0-0.25% zinc and 0.0 to 0.25% copper, the balance being aluminum. Webs of one inch or less in thickness formed from the alloy by continuous strip casting can be fabricated into non-galling, low earing can stock suitable for deep- drawing and ironing into high buckle strength two- piece beverage containers.
