An aluminum alloy sheet having excellent press formability and stress corrosion cracking resistance, comprising 3.3 to 3.6 percent by weight of Mg and 0.1 to 0.2 percent by weight of Mn, furthermore, 0.05 to 0.3 percent by weight of Fe and 0.05 to 0.15 percent by weight of Si, and the remainder comprising of Al and incidental impurities, wherein the sizes of intermetallic compounds is 5 ~m or less, the recrystallized grain size is 15 ~m or less in the region at a depth of 10 to 30 ~m below the sheet surface, and the surface roughness is Ra 0.2 to 0.7 ~m.

L'invention concerne une feuille d~alliage d~aluminium offrant une excellente formabilité sous presse ainsi qu~une résistance aux craquelures induites par les efforts et la corrosion, comprenant entre 3,3 et 3,6 pour-cent en poids de Mg et 0,1 à 0,2 pour-cent en poids de Mn, ainsi que 0,05 à 0,3 pour-cent en poids de Fe et 0,05 à 0,15 pour-cent en poids de Si et le reste comprenant Al et des impuretés incidentes, les tailles des composés intermétalliques étant 5 µm ou moins, la taille des grains recristallisés étant 15 µm ou moins dans la région située à une profondeur de 10 à 30 µm sous la surface de la feuille, et la rugosité de surface Ra est comprise entre 0,2 et 0,7 µm.
