Al-Mg-Sc based alloys include additional elements selected from the group comprising Hf, Mn, Zr, Cu and Zn to improve their tensile properties. The alloys are preferably comprised of aluminum and, in wt.%, 1.0-8.0 % Mg, 0.05-0,6 % Sc, 0.05-0.20 % Hf and/or 0.05-0.20 % Zr, and 0.5-2.0 % Cu and/or 0.5-2.0 % Zn. In addition, 0.1-0.8 wt.% Mn may be added to the alloy to improve its strength characteristics further.

L'invention concerne des alliages Al-Mg-Sc comprenant des éléments supplémentaires sélectionnés dans le groupe constitué de Hf, Mn, Zr, Cu et Zn afin d'améliorer leurs propriétés d'allongement. Ces alliages sont de préférence constitués d'aluminium et renferment entre 1,0 et 8,0 % de Mg, 0,05 et 0,6 % de Sc, 0,05 et 0,20 % de Hf et/ou 0,05 et 0,20 % de Zr et 0,5 et 2,0 % de Cu et/ou 0,5 et 2,0 % de Zn. En outre, entre 0,1 et 0,8 % en poids de Mn peut être ajouté à l'alliage pour améliorer ses caractéristiques de résistance.
