ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Prolonged inhibition of filiform corrosion of an aluminum automotive road wheel is achieved by applying to a bare aluminum surface of the road wheel a powder clearcoat coating composition comprising a major amount of a thermoset resin component and a minor amount of a UV additive comprising a UV absorber and a light stabilizer compatible with the thermiset resin component, and then thermally curing the clearcoat coating composition on the aluminum surface.
