The invention relates to a transgenic non-human animal which can be used as a non-human animal model for studying Alzheimer's disease (AD) and which is characterised in that: it contains a heterologous polynucleotide (transgene) which is inserted in the genome thereof and which comprises the nucleotide sequence of the complete human APP gene together with the regulatory sequences thereof; and it has an endogenous expression pattern similar to that of the hAPP gene in humans. The inventive model can be used to study AD and in the screening of potentially-useful compounds for the prevention and/or treatment of AD.
L'invention concerne un animal transgénique non humain utile en tant que modèle animal non humain dans l'étude de la maladie d'Alzheimer (MA) caractérisé en ce qu'il contient dans son génome, un polynucléotide hétérologue (transgène) qui comprend la séquence de nucléotides du gène APP humain complet avec ses séquences régulatrices, et qui présente un patron d'expression endogène similaire au patron d'expression endogène du gène hAPP chez l'être humain. Cette invention concerne également les applications dans l'étude de la MA et dans le criblage de composés potentiellement utiles en vue de prévenir et/ou de traiter la MA.
