An ambient pressure control ventilation apparatus for mechanical ventilation of a patient comprising a sealable chamber (5) adapted to accommodate a whole body of a patient, a pump (2) fluidly connected to the chamber adapted to alternatively compress and decompress a ventilating gas within the chamber, a relief valve (14) fluidly connected to the chamber and a control unit (1) adapted to control the pump and the relief valve to facilitate a periodic regime of alternating compression and decompression of the ventilating gas within the chamber about a predetermined baseline.

L'invention se rapporte à un appareil de ventilation à régulation de la pression ambiante qui est conçu pour assurer la ventilation mécanique d'un patient. L'appareil comporte une chambre (5) susceptible d'être fermée hermétiquement et conçue pour loger la totalité du corps d'un patient, une pompe (2) reliée fluidiquement à la chambre de manière à permettre en alternance une compression et une décompression d'un gaz de ventilation au sein de la chambre, une soupape (14) de sûreté reliée fluidiquement à la chambre et une unité (1) de commande conçue pour commander la pompe et la soupape de sûreté de manière à faciliter l'établissement d'un régime périodique alterné de compression et de décompression du gaz de ventilation au sein de la chambre, au voisinage d'une ligne de référence préétablie.
