Abstract An improved process for the preparation of an amidinourea of the formula Image wherein the improvement comprises the use of a ketone as the reaction medium and the resulting amidinourea is obtained in higher yield and greater purity. The amidinoureas prepared according to the present invention are known anti-diarrheal agents.
