Aminated complex-type sugar chain derivatives represented by the general formula (1): wherein R1 is -NH-(CO)-CH2X, -NH-(CO)-(CH2)b-CH2X, isothio- cyanato, -NH-(CO)a-(CH2)b-CO2H, or -NH-(CO)a-(CH2)b-CHO; X is halogeno; a is 0 or 1; b is an integer of 1 to 4; and R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen or a group represented by one of the general formulae (2) to (5), with the proviso that the case wherein both of R2 and R3 are each hydrogen or a group of the general formula (5) and the case wherein either of R2 and R3 is hydrogen and the other is a group of the general formula (5) are excluded.
