AMINE DEODORANT COMPOSITION AND METHOD OF DEODORIZATION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides deodorant compositions for controlling malodor from perspiration comprising a safe and effective about of a primary amine compound having the general formula: R - NH2 , R -NNH2 , R -NHNH2 , R - O - NH2 or RC(O)R3NNH2 wherein R is selected from the group consisting of Image , wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, hydroxy, C1 - C20 linear or branched chain alkyl, and C1-C20 linear or branch- ed chain alkyl ethers of hydroxy; -CHR2CO2H, wherein R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, aryl and C1-C20 linear or branched chain alkyl; and C1-C20 linear or branched chain alkyl; and wherein R3 is C1-C6 alkyl; and a topical carrier for application to the skin or to articles of clothing worn in the vicinity of the skin. Methods for controlling malodor comprising depositing on to skin in the axilla or crotch region, or articles of clothing worn in the vicinity of the skin of a safe and effective amount of a primary amine deodorant agent of the present invention, are also provided.
