AMINE OXIDE PROCESS Abstract of the Disclosure The discoloration of amine oxides by carbon dioxide in high solids processes in which a tert-amine is oxidized with hydrogen peroxide at 20-100°C in the presence of carbon dioxide is minimized by conducting the reaction in the presence of an amount of inert gas, such as nitrogen or air, which is at least equal in volume to the amount of carbon dioxide.
