ABSTRACT This invention relates to novel aminoalkyl substituted heterocyclic sulfur compounds of the formula Image wherein the dotted line indicates the optional presence of a double bond, m is an integer from 0 to 4, n is the integer 1 or 2 depending on whether a double bond is present, z is methylene or sulfur, R is ethylene, vinylene or ortho-phenylene with the proviso that, when Z is methylene, R must be ethylene, R1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen, lower alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, hydroxy, amino, or amidino, and R3 is hydrogen or lower alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a therapeutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, which are useful as antihypertensive agents.
