Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to novel aminoalkylpyrrolobenzo- xazalkanes of the formula I Image I wherein Y represents hydrogen, halogen, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl, trifluoromethyl, nitro or amino; R1 represents hydrogen or lower alkyl; R2 represents hydrogen, alkyl of from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, phenyl, cycloalkyl of from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, phenalkyl of the formula C6H5(CH2)n-, cycloalkylalkyl of from 4 to 7 carbon atoms; or a radical of the formula -COR4, wherein R4 represents alkyl of from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, phenyl, benzyl, phenethyl, cyclo- alkyl of from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, cycloalkylalkyl of from 4 to 6 carbon atoms, phenoxy or lower alkoxy; R3 represents alkyl of from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, phenyl, cycloalkyl of from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, phenalkyl of the formula C6H5(CH2)n- or cycloalkylalkyl of from 4 to 7 carbon atoms; m is the integer 1 or 2 and n is the ingeter 1, 2 or 3, and the physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof. The preparation of the compounds is also described. These compounds are useful as analgesic agents and as tranquilizers.
