ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A point for welded removable attachment to a mild steel blade shank and tube to constitute an ammonia applicator blade, such point being cast of high chrome iron to be extremely wear resistant. The point tapers forwardly in width and its generally horizontal bottom slopes downwardly in its forward portion so that outwardly projecting lips along its lower edges not only laterally open and break up soil for swifter ammonia absorption but also tend to pull the blade down into the soil. The point has a V-shaped opening for accommodating the blade shank to which it is butt welded.
