Abstract of the Disclosure The specific disclosure provides a cutting instrument, such as a safety razor blade, comprising at least one strip of an amorphous alloy. The alloy includes 60 to 70 percent by weight of iron, 4 to 10 percent by weight of nickel, 10 to 20 percent by weight of metal selected from the group consisting of chromium, molybdenum and tungsten, and 5 to 15 percent by weight of at least one metalloid or aluminum. The strip has at least one cutting edge formed thereon, and an adherent coating of a solid fluoro- carbon polymer on at least the cutting edge.
