A method of imparting oil repellency to flexible, fibrous, nonwoven substrates comprising contacting the substrate with a composition prepared from polymerization of monomers in the following percentages by weight: (a) from about 60% to about 90% of a monomer of Formula 1 or a mixture thereof: Rf -Q-CO-CR=CH2 Formula 1 wherein: Rf is a straight- or branched-chain perfluoroalkyl group of 2 to about 20 carbon atoms, R is H or CH3, Q is -(CnH2nO)pSO2NR1(CnH2nO)y, wherein the -(CnH2n) is bonded to Rf, and R1 is H or C1-C20 alkyl; (b) from about 10% to about 25% of a monomer of Formula 2 or a mixture thereof: CH2=C(R)COZ(CH2)q(CHR)rNR2R3 Formula 2 wherein R2 and R3 are each independently C1 - C4 alkyl, hydroxyethyl, or benzyl or R2 and R3 together with the nitrogen atom form a morpholine, pyrrolidine, or piperidine ring, and Z is -O- or -NR4- wherein R4 is H or C1 - C4 alkyl; and (c) from about 1% to about 15% of a monomer of Formula 3 or a mixture thereof: CH2=CR(R5)e-COOH Formula 3 wherein R5 is CO(CH2)5, CO-O-(CH2)2, C6H4CHR, or CONRR6, and R6 is C6H4OCH2, (CH2)d, or C(CH3)2CH2.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour conférer un caractère oléophobe à des substrats souples, fibreux, non-tissés, comprenant la mise en contact du substrat avec une composition préparée à partir d'une polymérisation de monomères dans les pourcentages en poids suivants : (a) d'environ 60 % à environ 90 % d'un monomère de la formule 1 ou d'un mélange de celle-ci : Rf-Q-CO-CR=CH2 (formule 1), dans laquelle Rf représente un groupe perfluoroalkyle linéaire ou ramifié de 2 à environ 20 atomes de carbone, R représente H ou CH3, Q représente -(CnH2nO)pSO2NR1(CnH2nO)y, le groupe -(CnH2n) étant lié à Rf, et R1 représente H ou un groupe alkyle C1-C20; (b) d'environ 10 % à environ 25 % d'un monomère de la formule 2 ou d'un mélange de celui-ci : CH2=C(R)COZ(CH2)q(CHR)rNR2R3 (formule 2), dans laquelle R2 et R3 sont respectivement et de manière indépendante un groupe alkyle C1-C4, un groupe hydroxyéthyle, ou un groupe benzyle ou avec R2 et R3 qui forment en commun avec l'atome d'azote un cycle morpholine, pyrrolidine ou pipéridine, et Z représente -O- ou -NR4-, R4 représentant H ou un groupe alkyle C1-C4; et (c) de environ 1 % à environ 15 % d'un monomère de la formule 3 ou d'un mélange de celle-ci : CH2=CR(R5)e-COOH (formule 3), dans laquelle R5 représente CO(CH2)5, CO-O-(CH2)2, C6H4CHR, ou CONRR6, et R6 représente C6H4OCH2, (CH2)d, ou C(CH3)2CH2.
