ABSTRACT Incorporation into polyarylether ketones of a metal oxide selected from the group of amphoteric metal oxides consisting of the oxides of auluminum, beryllium, bismuth, cadmium, cerium, gallium, germanium, lanthanum, lead, manganese, tin, titanium, zinc, zirconium, uranium and mixtures thereof significantly enhances the oxidation resistance of said polyarylether ketones.
